some kind of hanging problem on my KF 1st, or?

I am having a problem with my rooted Kindle Fire 1st generation and I need help.

In 2012 I rooted and flashed my Kindle Fire with jandycane_otter-v1.8.0_0xD34D. Recently I started to get problems, like when starting apps such as Blue Reader/Kindle Reader the screen would go black and it would take a lot of power button pushing or holding pressed for a while before the screen would return and the App would be loaded – once loaded it would be okay. This wasn't always, just now and again – but it was very irritating.

So I decided to Flash a new ROM. First I had a bit of difficulty finding which ROM was suited – and a links to a lot of the ROMs ( over goo.im) were no longer working.

In the end I choose hellcat-20140119-otter = with = gapps-kk-20131111-artcompatible.

First I updated TRWP to v2.8.5.0. Did a Factory Wipe and Dalvik cache / Data / Cache / System Wipe. Then I flashed Hellcat + gapps. There was no trouble in this process (that I could tell) and was given as successful. Rebooted – did the WLAN connection=Google account=Region/time and was into Hellkat no problem. Worked okay.

The problem starts when I shut the kindle down and restart it (later or whenever). Get the usual boot (select) screen, but the KF screen seems to take a long while before finally getting to the HellKat screen – but there it seems to hang. I can shut power down and retry and sometimes it loads okay after this. Other times it just hangs again. (or needs far longer time to load than I allow it??? - but give it for my feeling a long time, but?)

Once I Wiped everything again and Flashed both zips again = but same result

So what now? = I don’t know, I’m stuck too!

It seems to me (but? I am a novice) like some kind of loading problem - but I don't know what?
