Do I have a SM-G920F or G9208?
Hi,
Possibly a weird question but I am very confused. I purchased a phone on Amazon.ca
http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00U...ilpage_o00_s00
I was supposed to get the G920F however on the box it reads G9208. Also under my settings it reads G9208. So I am assuming this is the model I have.
However when I look online I see that the G9208 should have a dual SIM slot however this phone certainly does not have that. So I am slightly confused, any help with confirming what model I have would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Trent

Did the original (3g only) Verizon Droid have a sim card?
I'm going to try to trade in my og droid at best buy. They say 200 bucks off s6 edge plus for trading in any working smart phone. My og droid still works so what the heck right? Worth a try. Thing is I can't find any sim card. Did it have one? I have a feeling vzw didn't use sims until lte phones came along but I'm not sure. If there is something on the sim I want to be sure to take it out.
kindle fire hdx 3rd generation can't twrp
Hi
Newbie here. We bought a kindle which turnout to be blacklisted so we can't register it. Obviously it is useless as we can only use internet.
My kindle was running on latest firmware which meant I couldn't root it. Thanks to one of you xda geniuses. I was able to rollback to firmware 13.3.2.8
I change oat filed to avoid upgrades. I installed es explorer.
I then rooted my kindle and did root checked which confirms it is rooted on Kfthwi android 4.2.2
I installed su super user. Seems to work fine
After that I tried to install boot loader fireflash but it keeps stopping
I finally managed to install and launch Rashr but when I boot recovery with twrp or any other files my kindle boots and stops saying can't boot and offers me to do factory reset or starts again as if nothing happened. I haven't chosen factory reset as I don't think this will help.
I have added su super users to system hoping this would help but no success.
I have also tried loads of kfu from pc but although adb is ok it says boot status unknown and fails every time as if it can't find the path or something...
I have ran out of ideas. I don't know what to do anymore
My aim is to install cm12 or other versions... anything to make this kindle become android
Please help me!
Thanks

sync dictionary between devices (Google Keyboard)
so I have some words stored on my tablet's personal dictionary (Settings => Language & input => Personal dictionary).
I also have installed Google Keyboard app and have selected my main Google account as the sync account and have just pressed "Sync now".
I have also installed the Google Keyboard app on my phone and just have also selected the same account as the tablet and have pressed "Sync now". BUT the dictionary hasn't transferred to my phone. I've tried synching on both devices several times but no positive outcome.
Both devices are running KitKat.
Any ideas on how to make this will work? Thanks! :)

Galaxy S4 I545 (Verizon) outbound text msgs not working with Tmobile SIM card
Hey everyone. I just bought an unlocked, unused (new) galaxy s4 I545 (Verizon) and it wont send out text msgs with my T-mobile sim card. I do receive (inbound) text; but no outbound text msgs. Calls and web surfing work fine.
I'm aware that this is very common problem when trying to go from Verizon to Tmobile with galaxy S4 phones, but i have not been able to find a straightforward solution to this exact issue. Has anyone been able to solve this? I did find this one thread that addressed this problem, but it's quite confusing --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...lipop-t3116732
thanks in advanced.

Long press doesn't work sometimes
In the notifications shortcuts ( Data button for example) or inside all the apps ( sms for example ) the long press does not work sometimes and has to be pressed 2nd time to work.

Stuck in boot loop.
I have tried to flash the ROM on my M7 with no luck. Just getting a boot. I have used a mates computer and didn't noticed his copy of Hasoons was for the M8 when I changed from TWRP to ClockWorkMod and now I can't get into recovery mode. That's a new problem. The old one is not being able to successfully flash the ROM.

Galaxy S4 SCH-R970C firmware questions
So Samsung has released Android 5.0 for all the Galaxy S4 units except for one. The SCH-R970C, which is the Cricket variant of the model.
This is extremely annoying for me, considering I have that model Galaxy S4, and would love to get it updated.
Long story short, can an SCH-R970 official samsung rom work on an SCH-R970C? The SCH-R970 is the US Cellular variant.
I don't know if Samsung/Cricket will ever release it for my model, I've been waiting 6 months for it to land on my phone, but I get nothing.
I have tried rooting and putting non-samsung roms on my S4, but there have always been problems no matter what rom I install. Most have battery issues, with it draining much too fast. Others have wifi issues, but that's probably because the rom didn't support my specific model.

How to root? (4.4.2)
Hi guys,
I'm coming from an HTC One S. This is a Verizon Note 2, with 4.4.2.
I looked through the How To Root/Rom/Return to Stock thread, but it's not very clear.
I don't see any root options for 4.4.x, it just goes up to 4.3.x in that thread. And I'm not sure what the VRUEMJ9/VRAMC3/VRALL4/etc. mean. Do those just correspond to the Android version?
I found some stuff on Google, but it doesn't come from XDA so I'm not sure how much I can trust this. Is this a good tutorial: http://www.samsungsfour.com/tutorial...2-verizon.html

Reflashing stock on linux
Hi all, I'm going to be sending my phone off for repairs which will hopefully be done under warranty. So I'm looking to return my phone to stock android for the time being. I've done it before but that was on Windows and now I'm switched to Linux. Is there a method through Linux which doesn't include emulating a Windows environment?
n00b here, Google isn't helping
So I think I just bricked my phone... I tried to update my phone by reinstalling the stock recovery as per this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPPT5J8xG6w
After updating, the phone got stuck on the error screen. I was able to go back into recovery and go back to the home screen. After some googling, I found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-...angle-t3015597
So I followed the steps and unrooted my phone and tried again. After the update, my phone won't go past the splash screen. I tried going into recovery and wiping the phone and rebooting, but it never gets past the splash screen. Help please!

cannot mount internal storage after downgrade to 4.3
I tried to downgrade to 148 to get the cm install to work. Lost access to internal storage. I was using twrp 2.8.7.0 or 2.8.0, flashed the rooted stock ROM from another post here and lost access. I've tried the su command "restorecon -v -R /data/media" and now I can see the internal storage from the settings menu but not change the location from there.

Any luck downgrading from 5.0.1 back to kitkat 4.4.4??
Is there someone managed to do it. I already read a lot of post regarding downgrading to 4.4.4, some says theres no chance to downgrade if you upgraded OTA but some managed to downgrade. So can really downgrade back to 4.4.4?? I'm really confused right now. Lollipop on my device has a lot of issues. Battery drains much faster even on idle mode it sucks up my battery. Game run much lagger than before. Already did factory wipe and clear cache 3x. I never experienced this when i was on Kitkat 4.4.4 and i really want to downgrade.. many of the user who tried to downgrade (Note Edge) have their phone soft bricked due to bootloader or something..
So is there a possibility that i can downgrade back to 4.4.4?? Thanks!

Current L ROM with Viper audio
I tried getting Viper audio working today and pretty much hosed my Google Music. I have been running ressurection ROM for a while now which uses AudioFX and I grew tired of the lack of audio options. Also every time I reboot or even just randomly during the day my network drops and I have to choose another APN (although it never actually changes it just prompts the LTE to reconnect) which is super annoying.
So I read up on it flashed some IPS changed some settings and now Google won't play music which is my primary music player.
Any chance you guys can tell me which lolli based ROMs (without the LG skin) either are cooked with or have worked with Viper & Google music?

How do I disable wifi calling/sms on LG G2 running ZVG?
My phone tries to always route calls and text messages through wifi when it is connected to one, even when connectivity is limited. So when I'm at work, I sometimes have trouble receiving text messages and calls, because of business wifi blocking certain things. Does anyone know how do I turn off wifi calling and text, permanently, so that the phone never tries to call/text via wifi?
RK3066 4.4.4 Small Bugs
HI Guys,
I've recently installed the PumpkinAuto 4.4.4 unit,
I am using Nova Launcher instead of the standard one.
Not rooted (yet)
I'm also using Doubletwist as my media player as it syncs perfectly with iTunes over WiFi
I Use the Tasker app to achieve most things that were bugging me. Like the radio app stays on when you play media,
so It now is closed when the media player starts. and the media player pauses when the RAdio starts.
The main bug is that the unit and tasker will not send the media command to Doubletwist to pause music when you key-off.
I've tried all things I can think of with Tasker, "Event" or "State", display off, display not on, power off, power not on, daydream, sleep, etc
but nothing will send a pause command when you key off or hold the Off button on the unit.
I assume it's due to the machine actually sleeping before the command can be sent?
Any help would be appreciated.
The other small issue is I'd like to be able to change is the Text size, as due to the smaller resolution of the unit (800pix) you do a lot of scrolling up and down.
I've previously had 7" tab 2's installed and am happy with the small text.
thanks in advance

I made a thing. [Joker Boot Animations]
I couldn't find quite what I was looking for in terms of Joker based boot animations (still haven't) so I made these to tide me over. Using gif to boot in ROM manager.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Unable to update unrooted phone to latest version
I have never rooted or flashed a ROM on to this phone. When I try to update (OTA) from G900AUCU4BOF2 to G900AUCU4BOF3 (fixing stagefright), it does not update. I can download the update fully and my phone restarts but when it is installing the update fails at 28%. I have wiped my cache and booted into safe mode but it still fails.
Losing Bluetooth Connection
I have a weird problem with my Moto X 2014 (Pure Edition). It's randomly losing bluetooth connection in a background (basically any BT connection to auto, smartwatch, etc.) but the phone itself says everything is fine (Bluetooth is on and devices are connected). But actual connection is not working: unable to play music via BT, unable to discover a new BT device, notifications not coming through to a smartwatch, etc. Bluetooth devices continue to show as connected even if I power them off, and when I turn them back on, they won't reconnect.
I meet this problem every 1-2 hours, sometimes even 10-20 minutes. The only way to fix this problem - to turn off BT and then turn it on again. Or keep Wi-Fi always off.
I tried to use another Moto X (2014, same software build version), to pair and unpair devices, to clean cache and even do a factory reset (with and without backup restoring) the problem is still here. That's weird but this problem start appears 2-3 weeks ago, before everything was just fine.
Phone: Moto X 2014 Pure Edition @ T-Mobile, Lollipop 5.1 (TMO_Pure_5.1_LPE23.32-21.3_5_23.16.3.victara_tmo.tmo.en.US)
Devices: Pebble Time, Pebble Time Steel, Ford SYNC2, Moto Stream.
Things I tried that didn't help: deleting and re-pairing devices, deleting all old device profiles, clearing cache, reflash, factory reset, safe mode, flash CM12.

[Theme] Material Flat Light for S6/Edge+/Note5
Hi Guys, last week i got selected for Samsung Theme Partnership. I'm making my first theme that is #MaterialFlatLight
Here are some of the previews.

The reason I'm posting it here is , I don't own S6 so I can't test it before sending it to Samsung. I need two beta tester who can help me with testing this theme before releasing it. It will be a free hence I can easily share the beta apk. But I'm not sure Samsung will allow this or not. I have send mail to Samsung asking if I can release the beta to public or not. Let them reply. In the mean time it would be really helpful if two of you guys can help me with this.
Circle me on Google+ so that I can share you apk through Hangout. Google+

Battery with question mark (moto g falcon) after unlocking bootloader
After unlocking the bootloader and trying on CM 12 on my XT1033 I have now downgraded to stock Kitkat. However I have noticed that when my phone is off and connected to my laptop I get a battery with a question mark on the screen. The same does not happen when I connect the phone (off state) to a wall charger which start charging immediately. When the phone is on, it charges through the laptop just fine. I have had no issue with the battery until now. I cannot exactly pinpoint if this started after unlocking the bootloader or after downgrading to Kitkat. Plz help
authorize usb debugging without screen
When replacing the flex cable from my nexus 5 to not more alloy screen .
the phone is connected , can not access the internal storage normally , however when I list the adb appears that the device is not authorized.
I do not have root , is there any way to authorize the device to debug so I can restart the same in bootloader and flash a new ROM

New Device Forum
Those of us working with the LG G3 Vigor would like to get a seperate forum here on the Vigor. This phone is NOT the same as the regular LG G3, and to keep down confusion it'd be spectacular to have a seperate forum.
Didn't know where to go to ask, but would love to have some help. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Please NO MORE UPDATES. PLease HELP ME STOP 5.1 UPDATE
How can you even avoid updating your phone? I got my T Mobile phone yesterday and before I could finish creating my Google account, Android restarted the phone in Odin and installed an update. I am still on 5.0.1 but I do not want any more updates. I actually wanna see how Kit Kat runs because my phone's battery sucks, granted I still have to work out battery life tricks and read up on stuff, but I find it ridiculous that I need to put my phone on power saving mode off the bat to get it to last till 5 Pm with moderate use...very moderate use. I don't even play games. And I've heard horror stories of reverting back to Kit Kat so I'm scared that my 400 dollar phone will become useless if I try it
It just seems Samsung is out to sabotage the Note 4 family so we buy their crappy Note 5

[EXPLAINED] S6 Edge (and flat) Ultra Power Saving Mode
Hey guys,
I've seen some threads here complaining about how the UPSM on the S6 and S6 edge are nothing compared to the S5, and I think I might have figured out why the numbers don't add up, but in real testing they prove to be about the same. If you look at where it says time remaining, some variants of the S5 (and note 4 I have noticed) say "Estimated max. standby time" and THOSE results, with a full charge, are showing 9-11 or so days. HOWEVER, the S6 and S6 edge read "Estimated Usage Time". Herein lies the difference; standby time is referring to the amount of time until the phone will die if you aren't using it. So that 9 days might actually be closer to 1-2 days of moderate texting and calling or whatever else you can do in UPSM. With the S6 and edge, it shows USAGE time. On my edge, with a 100% charge, the "Estimated Usage Time" is usually around 1.5 days. That to me, means I could use it for 1.5 days nonstop if I had the brightness down.
Now, I don't like how it doesn't turn the screen black, only grayscale, AND I'm noticing it bumps the brightness up when I activate the mode.
In conclusion, I believe that because of the grayscale vs. black, and brightness bump, that yes, I agree, the S6 doesn't have as good of a UPSM. However, it is still really close to the S5 because that estimate is usage time, not standby time.
Please let me know if you agree with this or have noticed anything similar.
