need help rootin the wifes phone..

so my wifes old galaxy blaze is dying slowly.. we got her a one s off ebay. I've been down this road before when i rooted my one s, but this time i'm having the hardest time. off the bat im having fastboot connection problems. i dont know if these drivers, or what.. when i did my one s i was still on windows 7 i believe, hboot 2.15. I used the rumrunner method on my one s. we'de like to get her up some one of the stable lollipop roms..

I'm working on it from a windows 8.1 pro 32bit laptop.

When im in the bootloader, in fastboot. plugging my usb cable into the phone "fastboot usb" doesnt show up until i volume up or down. im probablt missing something i just cant think right now.. anyways, lemme know some words of advice.. thanks much..
