Firstly, I have a Motorola 4G LTE peregrine.
Over the last couple of days I've followed the guides to the best of my ability to be able to install a custom ROM.
I unlocked the bootloader via the official Motorola way, rooted the phone, and installed TeamWinRecoveryProject. I'm trying to install a variety of ROMs but having no luck.
The only ROM I could install was Slimkat (SlimRom). I would like to use eithe SlimRom or CarbonRom for their no-nonsense simple firmware and for maximum battery life.
However I'm finding continuous issues. The biggest is that there's a constant moving flickering line that runs down my screen on TWRP and the SlimKat rom.
Slimkat also does struggle to load as well. The first time I flashed it, i got through to the first time setup menu but got bombarded with Google service failures. The second time, it now seems to be stuck in a boot loop of just flashing the logo.
Anyone know anything about this flickering line and why ROMs are failing to install?
This is very frustrating. I am not a phone user who wants to spend hours trying different roms. I liked when phone's were phone's and not much more. The sheer level of micking around I've had to do to get here and have outcome is frustrating and ridiculous as it is. I loved Kitkat and my phone auto upgraded me to Lollipop which I hated - Lollipop ruined my phone and made is borderline unusable. Right now, I just want to have a phone that's simple and trouble free.
Really appreciate any help here. Please treat me like an old nan of yours who doesn't know technology too well. I'm still learning. Sorry kids! (even though I'm 24 Lol).
