I've read mixed things and dont' know what can and can't be done. I purchased an XT1095 from ebay that had device protection activated. The phone is running android 5.1 with the 60.16 bootloader. The phone has a locked bootloader. My thought is if I can downgrade to 5.0, it will let me start the phone without a google account, and then I can unlock it and go from there. Problem is, I haven't had any success yet. I can get the phone into fastboot and recovery mode, but I cannot get it to flash a lower version bootloader or system image (I get invalid preflash validation errors) and the system image says it's not signed properly. There's gotta be a way to downgrade it, but I can't find a solution. Any ideas?
