Thanks to Vegaveit.com and Longvan_89 for IM-850K Stock KitKat Zip (http://vegaviet.com/threads/302824/), modified dialer app from Ver 2 of his stocked based kitkat firmware and Modem files for L/S versions
If you are looking for a smooth, stable, battery efficient and close to stock experience then this one might be for you. My only purpose of making this ROM was to have a stock, bloatware-free and reliable experience for myself which I would also like to share with other Vega 850 owners
Tested thoroughly and found it to be really stable and responsive
After trying almost all the roms for Vega 850K, I decided to make one for myself offering stock experience, stability and good battery timing without any heavy modifications.
Replaced Korean Dialer, no more Korean on the dialer now
Removed Korean aps and bloat ware without creating internal conflicts
Internal messaging app replaced with Smithen Messaging App latest available version
English as default language also after factory resets
NOT ROOTED to retain stock environment but you can do it easily using frama root or installing Chainfire’s SuperUser through a custom recovery
APP OPS are integrated into the Stock ROM
and more little things
How to flash?
Instead of rooting, installing CWM and then installing the ROM, it’s better to just:
• Copy the downloaded ROM to Internal Memory or SDCard (modem file also for L/S versions)
• Download universal fastboot/adb drivers (link provided)
• Turn Off the phone, Press VolUp+VolDown and press power until you are in the bootloader
• From there select Fastboot
• Browse for drivers when prompted and install them (you may have to forcefully install them)
• Download recovery (link provided) and run CWMxx.bat and the phone should boot straight into recovery
• Factory Reset, Wipe Cache and Dalvik
• Formatting System, Data and Cache is up to you
• Install ZIP and when you are about to reboot it’ll ask to disable flash recovery, select NO to keep the stock recovery as you can boot into custom recovery directly anyways
• Stock recovery is a better option for factors resets……
• Doesn’t matter if you are coming from AOSP or any other ROM. This ROM also installs Modem, Stock Recovery etc…
Enjoy the stock KitKat sweetness
NOTE: You may also try installing the ROM on L/S versions but make sure to install Modem file right after installing the ROM. Links for modem files are also provided here for convenience
