My apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere but my searches showed up nothing and I thought this was an important issue.
I've noticed a bug on my Asus RT-AC68U (running 3.0.0.4.378_4585 (the latest stable firmware as of posting)) where the URL filter says it's enabled but in fact wasn't blocking urls (allowing my Fire TV to upgrade to 51.1.6.2 this morning).
This was verified when I tried manually downloading firmware through a link provided by aftvnews successfully but I then tried re-enabling the filter and found that I was no longer able to access the firmware update.
Based on this I would advise anyone using this router to consider an alternative e.g. opendns.
