my limitations without gyroscope

Hello guys..
I need your help.I am about to buy a smartphone and m stuck between 2 choices.one has a gyroscope and the other doesn't. I Already know ii am pretty limited in the vr field but I want to know about motion gaming.like can I play racing games that use phone tilt for steering .or kordern combat .will they do alrifht with just the accelerometer.I want to know because the other one with the gyroscope has kitkat and I want lolipop..thank you
