I just bought this phone and I was able to mod the SystemUI and remove carrier text from the statusbar.
It wasn't easy at all because it's impossible to decompile correctly Huawei's SystemUI and I didn't find any option for build.prop or local.prop file about that, so I devised some tricks and using an Hex editor I've been able to change what I wanted :D

In the download section you can also find a zip to revert back to the statusbar with carrier text enabled.
Installation instructions:
Download the zip and flash it with TWRP or CWM recovery :good:
