LG G2 - VS980 Earpiece Malfunction

Hi Folks -

I have an LG - G2 VS980 that I bought off swappa about this time last year. It was supposedly knew at the time.

After getting the phone I flashed a few of Cloudy's roms to it, also flashed PA to it as well. During this time I would have problems with the earpiece not working during a call, my solution was either to use speaker phone or my earpiece plugged into the headphone jack. After I would flash a new ROM the phone would begin working again and it would do so for awhile then the earpiece would quit working.

Well I got a new phone and sat this one the shelf for awhile, well now I am back on this phone and I have reverted the phone to stock using the methods descried here and then I updated the phone to OTA 5.0.2 that comes directly from VZW.

After updating the phones earpiece has started to malfunction again.

Funny thing though it only happens when using the stock LG dialer.
If I use Google Hangouts dialer the earpiece works fine.
If I use Google Hagnouts dialer then immediately go back to the stock LG dialer the earpiece works for a short period of time.
I have installed the SoundAbout app and told it to force the stock LG dialer to use the earpiece.
I have enabled and disabled a number of combinations of Hearing Aid Compatibility, Voice Enhancement, Voice Privacy in the dialer settings.
There isn't any indication that the phone thinks it is using the headphone jack instead of the earpiece.

I am not sure what else to do here to get this thing working, it appears to be software related.

Any help anyone could give me would be great.
