Incident of Motorola Service Centre over charging

I would like to share an incident that happened to my friend a week ago. He's fairly new to understanding the android ecosystem and hence soft bricked his phone by flashing the wrong kernel. So he didn't knew that all he needed to do was a simple firmware restore and hence he went to the service centre in New Delhi. Skipping all the unnecessary details what happened was that the guy at the service centre charged him Rs 500 just to flash the stock firmware.. Now he didn't know about flashing the firmware and all that and so he paid Rs 500 because for him it was like lose the phone worth 14000 or just pay 500.
The sad thing is that there are a lot of people who don't know about android development and troubleshooting techniques and these service centres trick hundreds of people every day into paying them a lot of money for the simpleat of things.
What we all can do is educate our family and friends about basic troubleshooting and encourage them to research online or consult someone before heading to service centres
