I've run into a bit of a roadblock in the process of unlocking my HTC One E8 from Sprint. I called up Sprint and received an unlock code; however, upon inserting my new SIM (T-Mobile), I was not prompted to enter an unlock code. After speaking with Sprint again I was told that the actual unlock process would have to be completed on T-Mobile's end. So, I took the phone to T-Mobile and a representative attempted (not sure what he did) to unlock the phone but said he couldn't do it (I'm not entirely convinced he knew what he was doing...).
So pretty much I am sitting here with an unlock code, but no actual way (or knowledge) of how to use it to unlock the phone to work with T-Mobile. I feel like the answer is quite simple, but after looking through numerous forum posts I have not come across anyone with the same problem. I fear that my only remaining option is to root/s-off to unlock this phone. As someone who is not well versed in all things technical, I hope that there are other options for me to explore.
