How to unlock my Tablet

I have a chinese tablet provided to me by the institute where I study. It has Android 4.2.2 in it. I did a factory reset but all i get is the institute's application as default. I can't access anything without a password(which I don't have). What can be done to make this a normal tablet ? And as i dont have access to setting so i can't enable debugging mode(so can't use kingo tools to root this device) And yes I don't know much about these things so please give as much help as possible.
