[GT-i9105]Can i install custom rom without upgrading to 4.2

i want to install custom rom (PACMAN ROM)...can it be done without upgrading from 4.1.2 to 4.2 ....
Plz frnds dont tell me to upgrade via odin or pc .....my mobile is no more detected on pc bcuz of its faulty usb port..................

and cwm recovery flashable zip for i9105 ....if any plz give me link ...i am on stock recovery
