Newbie; Not sure if this correct place to ask. Galacy Ace GT-S5830 suddenly dead. Tried reset code Power + Home; nothing. Hooked up to charger and tried again; nothing. Tried Home + Power + Vol - and Vol+, also nothing. Hooked up to PC, and Home + Power + Vol- gets Downloading... to show on screen but nothing else.
Since discovered battery faulty; won't hold any charge even when out of phone. Could faulty battery have caused the failure during my earlier attempts to reset? Have I ruined my software? Can the phone be restarted without a battery to check/recover it?
