Downgrade to 4.4.4? (XT1096)

Hey all,

Was just wondering if anyone knows how to downgrade the Moto X 2014 (XT1096) from 5.1 to 4.4.4. I ask because I want to root on 4.4.4 and unlock the bootloader.
