August 9th and I am still on 5.0.1

I just rcvd my Nexus 6 last Friday Aug 7th. I was expecting as soon as I get it out of the box it will notify me for 5.1 update but it didn't. I called Google store Canada this were I bought it from and the support guy told me that Google only pushes updates Tuesday and Thursday. Is that true? Has anyone noticed that?
