Any AOSP ROM that doesn't drastically degrade battery life?

I've had this problem with AOSP ROMs on all my devices, the battery life is significantly lower then on the stock ROM.
Is there any ROM you could recommend? I only tried temasek and I'm definitely not going back to it, battery was decreasing very fast.
