Hello XDA Community the following thread is about a a dangerous and harsh MegaBUG Called StageFright that made the whole OEM (Original equipment manufacturers) in a fright position after they detected it
Stagefright is a remote software bug that affects android os starting from 2.2 and above it is usually not just a bug it's vulnerable hack through a hacker , the attacker uses a remote code execution and Privilege escalation that gives him arbitrary actions to control over the mobile device.
the attacker can send simply a MMS Message to the victim device and in worst cases it can requires no end-user actions upon message reception to succeed
Almost all the devices except the devices that updated their mobiles from 1/8/2015 and no mobile updated this update till now except Blackphone's PrivatOS since its version 117, nightly releases of the CyanogenMod 12.0 and 12.1, Sprint's variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 While Google maintains the Android's primary codebase, firmware updates for various Android devices are the responsibility of wireless carriers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)
you can know whether you are protected or not via detector app StageFright detector
- Update your device
- Or Use Cyanogen Sources or AOSP
- Wait for flashable libstagefright.so
- in a temporare case turn off the option (Recieve Auto MMS)
If i helped i would be happy with thanks and donations are accepted :o
