5.1 update exSD storage issue

against my better judgement I updated to 5.1 lollipop on my verizon htc one m9, and while for the most part the changes were easy to adapt to I'm having issues accessing my external SD from my pc now where as before it was so easy.
Now it's only showing internal storage
I've been looking through my settings to see what might have been altered but I can't seem to track it down

any suggestions?
