[Q] When can we expect at&t development to go full speed?

I know right now we have root which is better than nothing, but when can we be able to flash custom recovery and go full out ?

I've had this phone for 4 months now, and I just want to know if we will ever be able to ? Or do I have to start looking for new carrier ?
